We are currently investigating the transport and optical properties of novel layered materials based on Germanium. These are materials with a semiconducting character and strong anisotropic lattice. In particular, such anisotropy could lead to interesting electrical and optical behaviors. Despite numerous theoretical reports have been presented already, only very few experimental studies can be found in the literature. We aim at filling this gap, thus providing information that could pave the way for the realization of novel angle-dependent electronic and optoelectronic devices.
